When you report pollution, you can opt to include or exclude the location data (EXIF GPS) embedded in the photo. If we would like to use your photo on the website, we will obtain your permission and may include the location data. Visitors to the website could download and extract any location data from images on the website.

These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If Anacostia Riverkeeper were to enable guest posting, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the post. It expires after 1 day.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Anacostia Riverkeeper does not share data with any organization with the exception of the following to perform the service you requested: our email service which we use to mail our newsletter to subscribers, the payment service to process the donation you requested, spam detection service, and our event registration platform, Eventbrite.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
If Anacostia Riverkeeper were to allow comments, when you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata would be retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
