2023 Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Training: Montgomery County

Interested in being a volunteer water quality monitor in Montgomery County? Join us to learn more!

Anacostia Riverkeeper, funded by Chesapeake Bay Trust and Montgomery County Government and working with partner organizations Defensores De La Cuenca, Nature Forward, Neighbors of the Northwest Branch, Friends of Sligo Creek, and UMD will be conducting bi-weekly water quality monitoring to inform the public about up-to-date water quality health as well as help inform long-term policy decisions about local waterways.

We will be collecting water quality samples from 5 sites in Montgomery County, Maryland on tributaries of the Anacostia River. We need your help to sample these sites every other week throughout the summer! Sampling is done Wednesday Mornings. All data goes online 24-hours later after the samples are analyzed.

All new volunteers are required to attend a training session!
