Come on out to the river and celebrate the 7th year of Friday Night Fishing on the Anacostia River!
Anacostia Riverkeeper has teamed up with Earth Conservation Corps to bring fishing down to Yards Park every Friday this summer from June 28th to August 23rd. Families and kids of all ages are welcome to come out and join us for a few hours of fishing. All fishing essentials are provided: rods, reels, bait, and lessons for those who want to fish for the first time. Staff will be present the whole time to answer any questions and help with casting, tips, tricks, and any other fishing help you may need.
The event runs from 5-8PM each Friday at Diamond Teague docks by the Earth Conservation Corps Pump house.
Who can come out? Anyone! Families and participants of all ages are welcome. Participants will just have to fill out a waiver and then can enjoy as much fishing as they can handle.
When and where will events take place? All Friday Night Fishing events will take place every Friday from June 28th to August 23rd, 2019 from 5-8PM. Come on down to the Diamond Teague dock by the Earth Conservation Corps office and look for the group fishing.
Do I need to bring anything? Nope! Everything you need to get started fishing is provided by ARK and ECC. Staff will show new anglers how to cast, reel, and bait a hook. Come as you are and get fishing right away.
