This K-3 lesson uses art to introduce students to the concepts of how pollution gets from their neighborhoods into the river and what they can do to prevent this.
Students in grades 4-8 can work with ARK staff to explore our Enviroscape model to learn how pollution moves through the watershed.
This 6-8 lesson will have students sort through some (sanitized) river trash to determine what types of trash are most common and brainstorm solutions.
Students in grades 4-8 can use our student-friendly Earth Echo testing kits to assess multiple aspects of water quality and determine the health of their local Anacostia river water.
